Smart Training

How to measure yourself without expensive equipment

Most climbers train blind — by feel, by copying someone else's plan, or by drilling what they are already good at. In this workshop you will learn how to measure your key climbing parameters simply and repeatably — without expensive equipment — and how to turn those numbers into an actual training plan.

60 minutes
Max. 15 participants
Theory + hands-on
Lecturers: Anna Šebestíková & Tomáš Javorský
Programme
10 min

1. Introduction and the philosophy of smart training

What training blind costs you — and why having your own numbers changes things.

15 min

2. Test protocols in practice

How to measure without an expensive smart board: the standardised Max Hang on a 20 mm edge, a 1RM pull-up test, and an intermittent protocol (7 s hang / 3 s rest) for forearm capacity.

15 min

3. Methodology and training design

Turning measured numbers into an actual plan: setting training zones, dosing load for strength versus endurance, and identifying your own limiting factors instead of guessing at them.

20 min

4. Hands-on testing

The standard test battery on volunteers from the group, data evaluated in real time, and a look at how connected sensors simplify and automate the whole analysis.

What you leave with
PROTOCOLS

Three repeatable testing protocols you can run yourself — without expensive equipment.

YOUR OWN DATA

In the measured version, every participant leaves with their own numbers and a link to their results online.

How the workshop runs
THEORY PLUS HANDS-ON

60 minutes. Two thirds on the protocols and the methodology, the last third measuring people on the spot.

MAX 15 PARTICIPANTS

We keep the group small so the hands-on part stays useful. If demand is high we will try to add another slot.
